Since starting the Blizzard Busters 5K Run & Walk, the funds raised are nearing $10,000! Our first year, funds went to support our building fund as we recovered from a devastating fire in 2002. The 2nd year our funds were sent to Africa through the UMC Relief Fund to support AIDS relief efforts and assisting in the lives of families devastated by the disease. The 3rd year, our funds were donated the United Methodist Church Relief Fund to help with World Missions. Since then our funds have gone to support the Student Ministry of First & Christ UMC. In 2012, all funds raised will benefit the Summer Camp Ministry of Ashland First UMC. Each year, AFUMC &CUMC reaches out to the youth in our community to offer them a life-changing week with friends, and Christian Role-models. During this week, students are given the opportunity to draw close to the Living God and either start or develop their relationship with Jesus Christ. |
